Reimagining the global digital experience for Rolls-Royce. As the business evolved its brand positioning and visual identity, its website needed to communicate a clearer, more cohesive story across a complex portfolio of products, services and corporate information. I worked on the redesign of the global website experience, integrating the refreshed brand direction with a flexible digital framework built to support the organisation's diverse content and communication needs.

CHALLENGE

Rolls-Royce needed a global website that reflected its evolving brand while making an extensive range of information easier to navigate and understand. The platform had to accommodate everything from detailed technical documentation and product information to corporate communications, marketing campaigns and historical content. The challenge was to create a consistent experience without limiting the flexibility required by different business areas, audiences and content types.

APPROACH

We took a content-led approach, using the stories Rolls-Royce wanted to communicate to inform the website's structure, design and user experience. This involved rethinking the information architecture and rebuilding the digital design system to support a wide range of content formats, from technical information and product detail to editorial storytelling and corporate communications. The focus was on establishing a flexible, reusable framework that could maintain brand consistency while allowing different teams to communicate their content effectively.

PRODUCT FOUNDATION

The redesigned experience brought the refreshed Rolls-Royce brand into a more consistent digital environment, supported by a scalable design system and flexible content structures. The framework was designed to accommodate the organisation's extensive historical archive alongside new product information, corporate announcements and ongoing editorial content, creating a foundation for the website to evolve as the business and its communication needs changed.

Simplifying Creation. Driving Engagement.

At the centre of the redesign was the idea that the website should be shaped around the stories Rolls-Royce needed to tell, rather than forcing every type of content into a rigid page structure. We developed flexible layouts and reusable components that could support everything from detailed technical content to engaging editorial features, giving the organisation greater freedom to communicate across different audiences and business areas. By connecting the refreshed brand identity with a more adaptable digital experience, the work established a coherent approach to presenting the scale, expertise and innovation of Rolls-Royce through its global website.
